I recently had an opportunity to have a tootle along this
road, between Malaga & Gibraltar. Not the new motorway,
although that's pretty interesting, the old road.

Good road. Plenty of twists & turns, ups & downs, and those
"enthusiastic" Spanish drivers.

Speed limits are mostly ignored, and almost all cars
have a few dings, dents & scratches.

The Spanish drivers do actually watch what they are doing,
even when they drive through red lights.

Only a couple of times I got worried.

I'll be looking forward to trying the road again
in the near future.

I have driven this road every year for last 20 yrs or so......it has changed somewhat! It has always been a very dangerous road, now perhaps less so because of the concrete barriers/dual carriagway. The Estapona to Gibraltar section is the most interesting.

It wasn't that long ago that there was no central barrier at all, and you had to put up with drivers turning left i.e. across the oncoming traffic!
