At 11.31am tomorrow morning reports start surfacing from all corners of the globe. Oil derricks and rigs from all over the world have run out of oil.

An unlikely situation for tomorrow but I know it will happen one day. Now, I've just come back from the pub and I’m very bored. So instead.....

At 11.31am tomorrow morning reports start surfacing from all corners of the globe. Oil derricks and rigs from all over the world have run out of oil. Instead of oil being drilled we unexplainably have sweets being pumped from the ground. For the sake of argument, skittles. Turns out, the mole people who live in the Earth's crust are bloody furious that we are nicking all their lovely oil and can’t afford to bath their children in it after mole school. They have replaced all the oil with their cheapest export of Skittles.

What would you do? I appreciate this is a car website so as a side topic, what would your new mode of transport be to satisfy midnight hoons?

Discuss.

one of my interests is actually the development of catalysts that can turn sugar etc. (i.e. stuff made by plants) into fuel.

I would start working on that problem smile

meanwhile just heat the crap out of the skittles until they turn to petrol.

oh and for the time being I would cycle to work.

also would have to use coal to heat house and water.

Do you think the 11 E numbers in Skittles could burn sufficiently to provide a fuel comparable to petrol?

I had Skittles tonight smile

Due to the high sugar content in Skittles they make an excellant energey source. As it happens, I have the patant on a method of turining skittles into 99RON petrol and am ready to go into production. Thus I would be out buying lots and lots of very silly toys based on my new fortune.

If anyone knows the Mole people and can give me some advance notice, happy to talk about an equity stake!
