Daytona 24: 1st 4cars - 11 seconds.

Don't know if you guys were following this yesterday but the annual 24 Hour race had an amazing finish.
At the end of the 24 Hours, Brumos Porsche won from Montoya who immediately complained about the power from the Porsche engines over his Lexus Ganassi car. Right behined was the second Brumos car with another Porsche powered thing coming fourth, but still only 11 seconds behind the winner.
Never seen anything like it.
Terrible looking those Daytona Prototypes but for nearly all the race, the top 7 or 8 cars were on the same lap, so they all had to work really hard.
Very exciting last few laps of course.

I caught the last 30 mins of so on eurosport... cracking finish to a 24hr, although your right those DP'a hit every branch when they fell out of the ugly tree. much better looking cars when I went in lat 90's even saw Tiff with the Lister... proper protos then including the 333sp which imho was the best ever looking and sounding proto..
after watching the end of the race on eurosport i would have to agree with JPM complaint about the porsche straight line advantage. on the infield JPM was driving like he stole it and was right up the gearbox of #1 brumos and quite a bit ahead of barbosa by the end of the banking section he was at least 4-5 car lengths behind #1 and barbosa looking for the overtake. first race of the season and all and equilisation will sort these problems out, but i suppose the 24 is the one they all want!
JPM moaning because his team have lost the advantage they have had in the ast few seaons. Shame
The Porsche powered cars hardly had a huge advantage did they, after all JPM and others lead the race at various points, and he finished within .2 of a second

Remember that Grand Am is now owned by the NASCAR organisation and they do have "previous" when it come to the creative use of yellow flags in the name of entertainment.andy97 said:
