multi-fuel stove with power flue...HELP...

To the pistonhead collective...

I live (don't take the pi55) in a 3 story Bovis house with no cimney. It currently has a blanced flue gas fire on the middle floor.

However what we'd like to have is a multi-flue stove in one of the rooms on the bottom floor, is it possible to have one with a chimney venting outside on the ground floor - I guess the smoke might be a problem.

Other than that any suggestions as to nice fires that could be installed in a new house - electric probably.

I looked into this and you will need one of those "Ivor the Engine" chimney pipes that go x feet above your roof line - expensive! There was a thread about this a couple of months ago with all the links to building regs etc.

From a quick read it appears that the chimney would have to terminate at roof height (or slightly above). Could you not change to a gas burner that looks like a wood burner? Other than that, you can get electric versions of wood burners.

You need something akin to Selkirk Metalbestos Twinwall Flue.
It's a very simple installation.
You can hire a circle cutter to go straight through the wall. The components simply twist and lock together. They fix to the outside wall with simple stainless steel brackets. Fit an inspection TEE End trap on the bottom. Easy to maintain and the whole job can easily be done in under a day once you've got the stove positioned inside the room.
