Underfloor insulation installation
Discussion
A mate of mine had got some panels of fibreglass insulation. They are about 3" deep x,6'long x 2' 6" wide.
he has a kitchen with a tiled floor with underfloor electric heating between the tiles and the floorboards.
The plan is to install them under the floor, between the joists. Access will be from his cellar which has a low plaster and lath ceiling.
One idea is to remove poarts of the ceiling and slide the trimmed to suit panels between the joists. If that doesn't work then the idea is to remove all the ceiling (cosmetics not a huge issue) and attach the panels to the space inbetween the joists.
The bit that has us stumped at the moment is how to attach these rigid panels to the underneath of the floorboard. Don't really want to nail them in place as the underfloor heating elements might get damaged.
Any ideas folks?
