Drivers lisense photo application, confused...
Discussion
I have an old paper drivers lisense, and no current valid passport (went out last year)...
So I can't do the premium check at a post office, nor the online version (no passport)
So is it just sending signed photo's via the post to DVLA, or can I do the premium check with signed photos?
The website seems really geared up to you already having a passport or photo ID, or being a pensioner or doler or something...
Any help much appreciated.

Its signed photos and proof of identity posted to the DVLA. I had a surprisingly quick turn round when I did mine last year. It took three days for them to process my application and send me a photo license.
You can do the majority of the application on line and just print out the form to send off with your photos + ID.

But what is your other ID?You can do the majority of the application on line and just print out the form to send off with your photos + ID.
I can do signed photos, but I have no other ID really bar NI card, payslips etc etc...
Can I literally walk into a Post Office and pay for Premium check with JUST a set of signed photos and my old paper drivers lisense? Not sure what other ID they will accept if I need it...

Coincidentally I am also having confusion with this issue. 3 day turn-around sounds great and hopefully they are consistent with their speed...?
Mild thread hijack but I am wondering if anyone knows what happens if you wait until after the photo card part has expired before applying for the renewal. It says on the website that you should not do this but does not say why.
