I was wondering if anyone had any info or opinions on the Luego Velocity? I'd never heard of it before, but am intruiged by it, it seems pretty much the same as some other 7 copies, being based on Sierra parts with a pinto engine. I've had a look at their site, but obviously would value some 3rd party opinions! Thanks smile

I've got one in the garage.
It's half-built and belongs to my son who is in his second year at the University of Kent.
We chose it because it was similar to a lot of the '7'-a-likes, but had metal sides rather than the MKs GRP. It also has a steel floor. The only mistake we made was to base it on a rear drum braked Sierra. The disc setup is better catered for, the drum brake setup is not really very well thought out.
He has no need for a car in Canterbury, so I don't think he'll finish it before he finishes his course, particularly since he isn't exactly awash with cash!!

Best bet, as with most things 7 shaped is to head over to here, where they will tell you pretty much anything you wish to know about them.

I have a Viento as I am considerably over 6ft and cannot get in anything approaching a standard sized wheel base without getting my legs shortened.

Mine has IRS with disks all round and a rover V8, no complaints at all over the quality, I have the polished stainless sides and there flawless. I have had a lot of comments on how good the GRP panels are from the like of V8Developments who have seen many other kits with dull looking fibreglass and texture showing. Also Luego have been nothing but helpful when I have contacted them.

Happy to answer any specific questions where I can.

Thanks for the reply, good to hear that they're approved of! The Luego I was looking at has been sold now though unfortunately frown
