have been to the one near Winchester (name escapes me) a couple times with the wife and little girl who is 5 now.
As mentioned above, can get quite expensive if you are looking to do the paid for activites and I would question whether a 13 year old is at the limits of finding it all "fun".
Can get some late deals via the website but pack the car with food and booze!

Went in march 07 to Sherwood - got a bargain for the bunker, i mean villa, but unless you want to swim all day every day, then its expensive. Want to send the daughter horseriding -£25 for half hour. Want to play tennis - £10 want to hire bikes - £kidney each per week etc etc.
If you can get a group of people, its great fun, but can cost alot.

We did Sherwood a couple of years ago. The kids loved the kids' club, bowling and swimming, the missus loved getting the kids to go off to do activities while she went to the spa, I was bored out of my head and had to cycle towing the kids. No internet access and nothing to play with with an engine in. Best bit was spending time with the kids.
It's probably much better if there's a bunch of you, or a couple of families together so you can kid-swap.
Disneyland Paris has some great deals on at the mo, we love it.

Took the boys to Center Parcs last year. Some place almost in Scotland. I meant to book Suffolk but pressed the worng button.
The kids had a great time (12 and 14 at the time). Plenty to do, made loads of friends and chose their own activities.
Nothing, and I mean nothing like butlins. The villas are nice , large clean and well presented (well, mine was). Agreed the cycling is a PITA but after day two I got used to it.
Other half had her hair done and some scales removed from her body. She liked it. I had a kid free pub to relax in.
I think a 5 night trip cost about a grand, including eating out every night, and the kids doing what they wanted.
Also, and relevant when discussing kids, you do feel that it a fairly safe environment.
We'd go again.

Don't. It's Butlins, only a hell of lot more expensive.
I shudder every time I think of the one & only time I went there
That's a long way from the truth to be fair. Comparing Center Parcs to Butlins is like saying Bernard Matthews does the same turkey dinner as Jamie Oliver. I shudder every time I think of the one & only time I went there
IMHO Center Parcs is a great place for a few days away if you can entertain the kids with walking, biking, swimming and so forth. As soon as you start doing all the activities, the costs **seriously** rack up. e.g.
Archery: £16
Falconry: £17
Zip Wire: £10 per go
etc.
But it is really nice to dump the car and be within walking / biking distance of everything for a few days and just relax.
plus there is often spectacular bikini clad totty in the rapids that you can "bump into"
