This is how it would look like if a big meteorite would hit the Earth. “The evidence shows that this has happened at least 6 times in Earth’s history.” yeah, okay…. this isn’t going to happen.

We live on a spinning ball, and with all that is out there, I find it very lucky that things like this don't happen with more frequency....it must have to do on where we're "parked" which provides this fortuitous situation.

The outer gas giants help in deflecting/absorbing some of the bigger objects. Other than that - in space the Earth is still really a very very small target, probability is in our favour!Check this out : http://www.proinvestortrader.com/?p=3261
