Escort Mk1 & Mk2 front struts
Discussion
Hi
If you have been offered the complete strut (outer and inner) then the only main problem (apart from the slight size difference of the piston rod that goes through the top mount) is the taper hole for the track rod end (on the steering rack). These are different on the Mk1 and Mk2 which usually means you have to match the steering rack to the struts so it can be steered.
The track control arm (the cast arm under the vehicle) hole is the same size on both.
I think there is a difference in the mounting for the callipers as the Mk1 has a smaller disc than the Mk2.
Mind you up grading to MK2 is always a good idea on the braking alone.
Hope this is of help.
