Excellent bit of news this:

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73008

Guess the Brits will have our team to shout for, rather than picking the lesser of two evils between Audi and Peugeot wink

They have 5 of their six drivers. Wonder if a certain (possibly soon to be out of work...) F1 driver might be tempted to have a go ? Or perhaps Anthony Davidson.

Nice one nICK
pOSTED THIS A FEW DAYS AGO, GOOD TO SEE.

Thursday 22nd January
50 years this year since Aston last won le mans
We might see a lola aston team in LMP 1

Colles(ex f1 team boss) has brought 2 Audi R10's to enter as a private entry
This could mean 8 of them up front on the grid.

Drayson Racing too (you know the MP guy who has the right idea!), may be entering their Aston Vantage's in the GT2 class. Would be great to see them mix it with the usual Porsche's and Ferrari's.

This year is for sure worth it - despite things being what they are and the ticket prices up again.

Great news im now really excited about this years trip to La Sarthe !!

I guess this means that the Prodrive factory wont be housing anything to do with F1 then!!

Now where do i get some aston martin merchandise ahead of my trip to lemans?????

Why not? They've not got the Subarus to do WRC with now and the Aston LMP1 challenger is effectively last years Charouz with a new body and being run by the same team. Reckon Prodrive have lots of space for F1!

This is Fecking typical... I decide to skip the 24hrs this year and go to the 'ring 24 instead and aston martin put a fecking works team into LMP1..

How do I explain to my otherhalf that I now have to make 2 trips across the channel this year..

Not been to le mans before, but it felt a little special reading this news - the sense that 'one last go' could turn into something quite memorable.

I'm guessing with this news a lot of cars will be sporting gulf colours or versions of it. I wonder how many orange stripes will be present in June ????

I thought last year was going to be a Gulf overload but it wasn't too bad. This year might see something quite special though, especially if they can field all 3 cars. I wonder if DR has taken all the budget for rallying and put it into the P1 project?

Wouldn't most the rallying budget have come from Subaru though.......

Not sure. I thought with works stuff you got support but it was a Prodrive prepared car so there must have been some cash direct from DR's current account.
