Sunglasses on a cloudy day!!!!!!

Why oh why do some people wear sunglasses on a cloudy day or even when its raining?
Is it a status thing like, look at me im cool! I know it shouldnt annoy me but it does, ALOT.
Even in shops, cafe's etc everywhere you go there will always be some limp risted doughnut puncher wearing bloody sunglasses in the rain! Morning all, rant over. (i feel alot better for that)

Maybe they have recently had laser correction to their eyes ?

Because the clouds act as a diffuser and the sunlight then comes from all directions giving more possibility of glare.

Im not on about a slightly cloudy day where the sun breaks through every now & again, i mean on really shi**y days.

I wear my prescription sunglasses in all sorts of weather.. They're polarised as well as being prescription so reduce any glare from whatever conditions I'm driving in..

Also, they're not that heavily tinted...

Anyway must dash, got a doughnut to punch..

OK confession time, the vx doesn't have sunvisors and it was very bright early on saturday am and I drove to guildford with my sunglasses on cos it was bright, and then walked thru town wearing them cos' I forgot I had them on...

I was actually buying two boxes of millies cookies, not doughnuts.

Sunglasses also work well at nighttime to cut out the glare and all the badly adjustead headlights, if you're not driving. It looks bloody stupid, but if you're taking turns driving on a long trip, your eyes will be more rested when it's your turn at the wheel.

I find that without wearing sunglasses even on a cloudy day I squint giving me a headache. I have tried those photochromatic/reactolite type ones but they don't seem to go dark enough or work well in the car.
Certainly not a fashion thing or any kind of statement at my age. I guess my eyes are just not very good at adapting to daylight. Maybe I should become nocturnal.

now that i can relate to! My Elise didnt have sunvisors neither..

Me too, even in the rain the glare of sun and/or headlights hurt my eyes to an extent if i don't wear sunglasses I squint and get a very bad headache.

Yep those winter evenings when the sun is setting and the bloody car doesn't have sunvisors and you're driving straight towards the sun... thats when you put on your sunglasses or curse because the stupid car doesn't have anywhere to store them so you left them at home.

I'm so glad its not just me...
