I drove to work this morning listening to Radio Sheffield, and heard about a bloke being made redundant from Corus who has three sons also in the industry and also looking like they'll be unemployed sooner rather than later.

As pointed out on the show, the impact on suppliers and customers across the region will be significant and its more likely that 1500 people will suffer as opposed to the 700 odd directly laid off by Corus.

With several items in the news about job losses in Rotherham of late was the tory report http://www.policyexchange.org.uk/Publications.aspx... which was widely condemed at the time actually now showing an element of truth?

have you read it? could you summarise please as its a tad long that report!


also wouldn't pay so much attention to the local media wrt corus, very one sided and very wide of the mark when they talk about up/downstream impact.
