Condenser Tumble Dryers - recommendations sought.

What it says on the tin really. Not had one before so don't want to buy a load of rubbish. Looking for any recommendations as to brand, model etc.

Just got a BOSCH Clasixx, very good

I got a cheap and simple Hotpoint one and it's worked perfectly for 2 years now, not probs at all - and the wife uses it a hell of a lot

You tend to pay throuh the nose for the condenser/dryer and if you're not bothered about the appearance when it's in use you can just buy a bog standard dryer with front vent and put a condenser box on the floor whilst it's running.
Can be a hell of a lot cheaper and the box goes in a cupboard or inside the dryer when you've finished.

Bought a Hotpoint one in Comet a few months ago. Their website suggests I probably bought a tcm570p, but the truth is I bought the cheapest one that they had in stock and that would fit in the boot of the Volvo. Wet stuff goes in and it comes out dry, not much more to say really.

1st was a non-condensing Hoover - it stopped working and was hacked to bits by a repair man that was made redundant over the phone as he was there to fix it.

Currys replaced it with a slightly more expensive one (FOC)

It was replaced with a non-condensing Hotpoint, which was delivered with a dent in the casing, so the motor couldn't turn and it went BANG when we turned it on.

We got the John Lewis on brand as it was the only one that we could find that was A rated for efficiency.

We have a White Knight WK767 T/D in a cupboard on the landing. Apart from the rumble when it's working it's no problem, it just gets on with the job.

It cost around £250 a few years back.

Yep, all Bosch in my household for washing/drying and chilling/freezing

IIRC John Lewis (and possibly others) gives you the 2nd years warranty FOC (although Bosch does when you register the appliance with them) and then it won't break the bank to top it up to a 5yr warranty.

HOWEVER: I got my Bosch Fridge/Freezer thru Comet as it was a discontinued model (albeit a top of the range one) at £350 and when I phoned Bosch to register the 2nd year's warranty they point blank refused to honour it!!! When I asked why it was because I'd purchased it via Comet and the reason that the appliance so cheap was because they (Comet) had purchased the warranty rights.

I was none too happy with Comet (having checked when I purchased the freezer that all the warranty was OK) and when I went to visit, explained that they could either take it back or compensate me. Manager was very reluctant until I mentioned that I would be just as happy to write to Watchdog at the BBC - I got £60 for my troubles (I'd also already had another £90 because the 1st one the delivered had a small crack on the facia and the 2nd one they shipped was dented and they really didn't want to ship me a 3rd)

Just ordered a Bosch Exxcel WTE84307 from the Co-Op. Around £60 cheaper than my usual preferred option of John Lewis.

These are very good. Cheap and British made too. As recommended by our 'old school' washing machine repair man.

No problems at all from ours in 5 years.

Did the job, no fuss.

Well, that is impressive service. Less than 24 hours from order to installation. Free delivery and the drivers took away the packaging.

Carlsberg don't make online white goods experiences but if they did, it'd be like this one.

just remember to clean all the filters, otherwise, bang.!!! Learnt that through experience. Otherwise, there very good.
