I read an interesting theory that the Swan hatch was built faraday and chang to prevent the island jumping through time roughly every 108 minutes and that is the reason why desmond has to push the button.

Stopped watching at series 3 after getting bored with the extremely slow story progress.

When it's been concluded in 10 years or so I may go back and watch them all.

I watched the return show... Kind of irritated me like it normally does with far too much suspense and unanswered questions raised.. Even when they ask the geeky physicist what's up he dodges the question or the scene changes or an advert break appears. Quite annoying. I'll probably watch next weeks show, repeating my frustration

It's a great series... the best US show and one that actually challenges you whilst you watch it. Yes there are a lot of unaswered questions, a lot of very subtle hints that the casual viewer will not pick up on. Great cast and great intricate plot.

This is what switched me off it, the first two series were great, as you felt the plot was going somewhere, the characters were interesting, then Locke decided not to push the button and you thought "great we'll find out what's going on now". Begin series 3 and they throw in yet more plot twists, and still no resolution of previous events. What I saw was just an endless series of questions about strange events and I found it bloody irritating.

I will revisit it some day but not until I know it has a satisfactory conclusion.

Heroes is going a bit slow too IMHO. It should have stopped after series 1 once the Cheerleader had been saved, along with the world.
Apparently they have brought in some new script writers to revitalise it.

Still watching it. I know it's claimed that there is a plot, but personally I think there is no coherent explanation of what the island is about and that the scriptwriters have been making it up as they go along.

I've tried watching it and I don't get it and am not bothered by it - Plane crashes. People are missing. Noone notices. The end.

It is coherent - they only rason why it appears not to be is that you do not have all the information to know what is going on. It is a puzzle and that is solved ovber 6 seasons.

If it is really improvised on the fly as you suggest, then why do you see a four-toed statue in season 2, or the old woman in the pawn/jewellery shop that desmond meets who is only being revealed now in season 5. The storyline is intricate - it is evolving constantly like all good shows should but the main essence of the show has been determined (time travel).
