Sharm El Sheikh - what currency to take?

Going to sharm next month, but am wondering what currency to take. When I went to Luxor in 2001 the Egyptian pound and sterling were fine, but I'm hearing that they like the Euro in Sharm?

Staying a week in an All Inclusive, but will need some spends. Thought about some Egptian (£50ish)and sterling. But should I have Euros?

They do like Euros, but you'll be fine with sterling and it seems daft to take the hit on exchange twice.

Went last year and they wanted US dollars for everything.
(Time before they were keen on £).
Egyptian currency doesn't seem popular either, just those US$.
Though strangely the cleaners have a fondness for £ coins.

Dont take EGP, as the exchange rate over there is much more competitive than it is here...

trust me my holiday cost me 10% more than it would have if I had changed my money when I was out there. And I shoped around for a good exchange rate here in the uk...

I took £100 worth of egyptian whatevers and the rest in english.

We went all inclusive and I gave the guy a couple of quid each day and got served hand and foot.

Make sure you don't waste water by getting the hotel to clean your towels either.

Best to take actual cash ? or travellers cheques ? or just bank card ? have read the hotel (jaz mirabel beach) has a HSBC cash machine in it.

i am going 2 weeks AI in may , so any advice would be appreciated

They might want the travellers cheques in the local museum, they are having a display of 80's memorabilia.
