An couple questions RE pets and LCD tv!

Ive rented out my spare room and a lovely female tenant has moved in yesterday and has brought 2 cats with her. no problem except i have a 3 year old chocolate lab who has a habit of going after cats when I walk him so how do i get them introduced and to live together peacefully? the cats are in her room while dog is confined to downstairs for time being! any help would be good

As for tv i got a 32 inch LCD tv from LG that i bought off ebay 2 years ago and its showin a very very faint yellow line less than a inch thick which shows up sometimes, why is that? and is it easy to add another sky plus box for the tenant to watch independantly of the one in the lounge?

haha i knew this would be asked! I dont have any pics of tenant but she certainly is good looking, a photographer for one of the papers in this country. all good! getting my nuts in deep with one of her mates at the moment but anyway about the damn dog, how do i stop him going after and possibly killing my tenants cats although he is a soppy labrador?

Introduce the dog to them in their surroundings, have him on a lead but don't restain him too much, be laid back, if he gets excited when a cat hisses at him and gets too close to him they'll probably swipe him on the nose, he'll learn quickly though!

You'll never be able to stop him chasing the cats if they run however if a cat turns round and stands his ground the dog will prob stop, they rarely kill/ injure cats (unless ex racing greyhound types).

I have a whippet who was a pup around my cats he occ tries to chase one of my cats who does run but has never hurt her. I have a friend with a lab who never lived with cats but is scared stiff of mine, he'll avoid them at all costs. I have been looking after a toy poodle who tried to chase my cats but soon learnt with 3 of them this didn't work, he has chased on of mine but again never done anything to her and he'd never lived with cats before.

thats for that becks! thats what i wanted to know, my dog is a soppy chocolate labrador anyway so it shld be ok, just hes very excitable when in company of other dogs but dont know bout cats but im sure the cats can stand their own!

No probs, sorry can't offer any help with the TV! Do give him enough time to settle. He'll prob be excited for first few mins if he's that way inclined but allow time, go round for a coffe etc and wait til the initial excitement has settled. Obviously if there is no sign of this occurring after 15 mins and cats getting really stressed might need to give up and try agian! Ensure cats have an escape route out of the room!

they will have a escape route thru a baby gate if they can fit thru it! i think it mite take more than one attempt at this but if i walk the dog lots beforehand, he wont be such a bundle of energy! thats my thinking anyway!

I have devised an ingenious plan:

step 1) Talk to the dog, try to reason with him and discuss his dislike of cat's, maybe prescribe a mild sedative.

step 2) sleep with female tenant

step 3).....okay, thats all I got

Scent marking is good (sounds gross, but 'marking' them all with each others pee can help).

It won't take too long, and they will all snuggle up and sleep in the same basket

Cats are far more comfortable being introduced to a dog under a duvet with both owners present.

I think it's just the cats and the dogs... he'll have to see what the tenants is into first I'd guess!

Nah, you can just swap their bedding over so they get used to the smell as well, but the pee thing works quicker.

you can imagine getting looks from the neighbours as you hold the cat above the dog and ordering it to piss

I've introduced cats into the home where there was a dog, and dogs into a home where there was a cat a few times
