Yep, love Shameless, consistently good quality TV, without the confusing nature of the American dramas, like Lost and Heroes.

Good.

... am I the only one thinking that they have started to slip just slightly over the last couple of series?

Although still very good.

It's alright apart from the piece of st dad, a completely hateful character. Actually puts me off watching.

Disapointed with the last series, and the writer, Paul Abbott, has said this series will go back to some of the darker elements that made the original so good. Lets hope so.

Yeah he is a piece of st but then he's supposed to be. Excellent TV can't wait to see it and see what repulsive acts Frank can get up to.

I just dont get what is meant to be entertaining about a celebration of everything that is wrong with about 1/4 of the UK's population?

I feel the same but will still watch it avidly, at least it pushes some boundaries and having grown up on a council estate (I escaped fairly soon afterward) I can confirm the accuracy of some of it...

Great writing and acting just a shame it has slipped due in no small part to a lot of the original cast pissing off....

Yes, exactly, I fail to understand this either.

You've completely missed the point - It's probably best you don't watch it.

I loved the first couple of series and still found later episodes funny but don't you think it has now run it's course? It was very much of the zeitgeist when it first came out but, in the light of current economic events, I fear public perceptions may have become a little less forgiving of the "loveable" rogues...

I get the point of the show completely and is generally funny and entertaining but this guy just puts me off. The fact that he treats his kids like st and this is supposed to be funny is just not good at all.

You forgot about The Inbetweeners, another diamond in the Channel 4 lineup.

Thats why the first series was so good, and the last two so bad.

The first 2 series showed how no matter what the outcome of your schemes, if you lived like that you were scum, and it showed guys like Lip trying to break out of the cycle. Thats admirable.

The last series especially was like an advert for being an oxygen thief, and how wonderfull a life that is.
