Colin has very kindly supplied me with my fiberglass sills for the 93.

I have ordered the below from Roe, I have to believe it will help with the heat

http://www.roeracing.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.as...

I know that Baz fitted fiberglass to Bling with internal heat deflecting ali inserts, but was wondering if we have any more fiberglass Gen1 sills in the club?

After I fit the exhaust wrap, bearing in mind I do not track the car, any opinions if I need to add further heat deflection to protect the sills? teacher

I'll definitely be reading the outcome of this with alot of interest Kev, I'm in two minds what to do at the moment... Keep thinking should I go Fiberglass, or stick with the Aluminium?

The fibreglass ones on my old 94 are still going and that's with no cats and a Roe racing side exit exhaust... All i put in for protection was some 1mm alloy sheet curved to a half circle and pop rivited top and bottom..
There was a gap between the alloy sheet and the sill for venterlation...

Hi Baz,

But in your opinion do you think the exhaust wrap would be enough, or do I need the ali?

I'm not to keen on the pop rivets and would like to avoid if possible

As you know I also have Roe exhausts although there is some form of cat in them

I have to say Bling runs so much cooler than my stock 93 with both the heat wrap and the alloy shield. No paint blistering and the only bits that burn the skin off when wearing shorts are the chrome tips now!

I wouldn't trust the fibreglass sills with stock exhaust / cats - especially when you see what the heat does to the stock heat shields and wrap.

I reckon I must get another few BHP with the reduced weight of the fibreglass sills as well! laugh

Col should be sending me my fibre glass sills any time now.
He said he's sending me some ali' sheet to use as heat deflector. But since I'm running high flow cats I think I'll try the stock heat shields.

As a side note, I've got a complete set of heat deflector foil, shield etc in my garage, for a single side (not sure which). Was originally shipped from Skip at Viperdays, but in the end I went with some heat wrap and expert know-how from Colin & Baz when my fibreglass side sills were fitted, hi flow cats & Corsa exhaust. Shout (auto-cultureAThotmail.co.uk) if you want it (collect from Birmingham- postage is going to be a killer, not weight, just the length of the box and do you really want to gamble with the postman these days?)
I think a swap for a club jacket would be fair....
