Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel - Wobbly - Bearing Fix?
Discussion
Well, I did the bearing today.
It feels so much better now! Still pants compared to a G25, but loads better than it was. I just spent the last hour hooning around on Forza2 - so much easier to go sideways with a wheel
So anyway, a few pics:
Original 'bearing' (cheapo plastic ill-fitting ring). It sits inside the dark grey plasic, and wobbles about.

New Bearing, glued in place. You have to chop out the innards of the plastic bit to get enough space to fit it.

Old vs New comparison.

This is the bit the steering wheel actually bolts onto. It's 47mm outer-diam, and the bearing is 45mm inner, so you need to make it smaller. I attached mine to a drill and used sand-paper, but for best results you could use a lathe. I then stuck it in the freezer for an hour to shrink it down so it'd fill back out inside the bearing, and make a snug fit

The insides of the wheel, and the bolts I use to hold it on my frame.

I used this as a guide, for anyone else wanting to do it.

While we're on the subject, deos anyone have a fix for a clicky right paddle (upshift)?
I'm in the process of doing the bearing mod on my xbox steering wheel. I have used the same bearing 285-0778 from RS Components.
I have a concern though, the bearing is quite stiff to turn, should it be like that? I don't want to glue it in place if it's going to burn the motor out.
Any help from people who have done this mod would be much appreciated.
