You may remember that I had some TVR Rover V8 Rocker cover badges made.
(Click any of the images to make them bigger)

I am now considering having some bonnet badges made in the same material (its like a clear vinyl about 3mm thick - the legend is at the back with a clear covering)- its a bit difficult to describe what I have in mind - here's a rocker cover badge carefully adjusted with a pair of scissors!

but to be like the original bonnet badge the colours would be inverted like this

I think the silver border may have to be a bit wider than this - but you get the idea - obviously its a bit rough.

What do you think? If you think its totally ccensoredp please say so.
I don't know exactly what they would cost but based on the rocker cover badges with the added complexity of the shape I'm guessing about a fiver plus postage.

They would be the same size as the original bonnet badge.

They are the same material used on a number of automotive badges, TVR used it on later models like this

This shape could even be an option if required.

but that is in a recess so the edges are protected. The edges are also moulded with a rounded edge rather than square cut.

If it is just a lacquered vinyl product stuck onto a smooth bonnet the edges will be vunerable to bits of sponge, chamois leather, road detritus etc. How do you also get it off if/when it needs replacing too ?

I'm all for options but I not sure this one has legs

All IMHO of course biggrin

All good points Stu - hence the reason for my post.
Thinking about it catching on the sponge etc when washing I think you are right.
