I am just trying to get some ideas together for a trip this year... so, if you had £1,500 (for one person), where would you go, and what would you do?
4 day monster Yak hoon from just west of Maidenhead to Glenforsa on Mull, via Halfpenny Green, Carlisle and Oban, eating as much as I possibly can and still get airborne, including a visit to be best fish-and-chip outfit in the world - Mr Grumpy's in Plockton - and at least one blast down Glencoe, as well as at least two new islands added to the logbook, at the start of May...with about 20 other like-minded individuals. Should just scrape in at under £1500, if I go easy on the cheese board. Oh yes.Flight into Bangkok.
Couple of days there then train up to Chiang Mai.
Next stop Chiang Rai.
Over the border and into Laos.
Across Laos into North Vietnam.
Down the coast to Ho Chi Minh City.
Up into Cambodia.
Back into Thailand.
Back to Bangkok via Si Racha.

It would have to be America. £500 flights (max) leaves a grand to spend traveling around for a month or so.
£1000.... 1 month.... $50/day.... Hotel.... Food... Beer... Women.... If Carlsberg made holidays...
I'd probably go to Thailand, where £600 flight to Phuket would get you a whole lot of fun for £900 spending money.
