School Holidays

A little while ago, while we were cheerfully ranting on here about teachers, as we often seem to do, I was very surprised to be told that it was fine to take children out of school during term time to go on holiday, and that it was therefore unfair of me to criticise teachers who complained that they, unlike everyone else, could only go away during the school holidays, when everything was so much more expensive.

Turns out that the word 'fine' was used in the wrong context...

The £100 fine isn't much of a deterrant though, seeing as though parents will still make up that kind of discount by not taking holidays in August. I'd still take the fine in order to go somewhere with kids that wasn't plagued by lots of other little monsters.
