Anyone used and online conveyancing service? Was it any good? Any suggestions / advise greatfully recieved.

Don't do it, stick to a firm of solicitors lots of them work on a no sale no fee basis, they will know how to to deal with any problems especially if it is leasehold. Online conveyancing is normally farmed out to juniors and over seen by a solicitor, normally take on to many cases and no personal touch.

be careful as a lot of conveyancing firms are going pop.

if it were me i'd go for a firm that does plenty of other things as well.

Personal opinion, use a proper solicitor.

I would avoid on-line firms at all costs, especially if you are buying anything other than a freehold identikit box on an estate which is less than 10 years old.

Yes you get the wonderful access to your file on-line, but that isn't much help when it is going Pete Tong and you can't get past the front line to talk to the organ grinder.

You really need to use a proper solicitor and one who doesn't just do it by volume. Seriously, and i know you will be sick of hearing this, it is most likely the biggest purchase you will ever make (until you move house again!), do you really want to trust it to the lowest bidder?

I spend more time showing these operators how to do their job (or doing it for them in some cases) than I care to calculate.
