Just a thought at the moment, but was wondering whether anyone would be up for a Club Rally Visit to somewhere like Beaulieu in the future? Looks like they can provide a pretty good service for clubs, and have seen people camping on site in the past so could be a weekend event?

Here's a link to a section of their website regarding this type of thing... http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/ipus/beaulieu/clubrally

Also there are some great roads round the Forest, so a 'Southern Run' could be organised if the interest was there...

Other potential destinations which have been floated were Duxford Air Museum Link Which I have to say does appeal somewhat as I haven't been there...

Or somewhere such as Mercedes Benz World & Brooklands Link

I'm pretty sure that they are all able to cater to a Club Visit, but thought I would float it first and see what kind of interest we get before doing the further leg work at this stage.

Duxford also gets my vote and we could book a club stand at the Spring Car Show on 3rd May which will get us in free of charge.

Duxford is a great place to visit, so count me in.

I only live 15 minutes away from Duxford, so if folks wanted to carry on some form of activity post Duxford (I could incinerate some sausages or even host some Viper racing on the X-box) I would be happy to play "host"

Actually, not quite free but heavily discounted admission. Last year it was £9 per person. There is normally a Mopar meeting held there and I have e.mailed the Mopar boys to see if they are holding one there again this year. Duxford has a great American WW2 aircraft display and they like to follow the American theme with the car shows.

I was at Mercedes World a couple of weeks ago. I asked them what were the chances of putting our cars on the test track wink And perhaps some sort of display!
Up till now no cars other than mercs are allowed to use the track frown
However, If it was a propper club event and we pluged the Damiler/Chrysler/Mercedes link You never know!!!

I am going there again on Saturday, So I will see if I can get some contact names smile

Have you guys been spying on me??? Was only talking to our leader yesterday morning about organising a trip to Duxford and that the Spring Car Show clashes with the Silverstone GT! Air Show days would be more interesting, but much more expensive and unlikely to get dedicated parking - we could all turn up together early I guess.

How about the car show on sat 9th May at USAF Lakenheath Suffolk which is not far from Duxford. My wifes cousin is top dog there so we should get some VIP treatment.

I'd be up for that, especially if I get a ride in an F-16? biggrin

Nice show would recommend it went with PH last year and had a gas. Only problem was you were not allowed to leave the show area unless escorted but the food was great and cheap and the awards for the show were tacky but large (Fishy take note).

Great day was had and watched from a far loads of interesting aircraft come and do.

In short I would go.
