Full Lock - Front Wheel Judder

hi, on my T350c, sometimes when i have full lock on and just turning slowly, i feel a judder through the front wheels, usually when in reverse - is this normal?

I got that on old tyres on my Scoob. New tyres, no prob.

Yeah I feel that sometimes on my Tam, particularly if its cold or damp.

Can be steering column hitting auxillary pulley whenengine mounts are shot on cars with aircon

Yes when my engine mounts went i had this problem. Engine mounts are new and never had problem since maybe worth a trip to garage?

I get this in mine but with engine out at the moment am taking the opportunity to replace all the mounts (regardless of condition) so will let you know if this cures it when it comes back.

I'm glad to hear it's not just me. I even got out this morning to check the tyres were still on the rims! Recently, I've been getting the same in my Honda too so hopefully it's just a combination of cold, damp & tyres (Eagle F1 on both cars).

I used to have that on my old spiders and GY F1's,
now I have SP12's with Toyo's it has gone. But I have
had the GEO done with tracking so that also might
of made a difference. (HTH)

I had this on the tam a while ago, I think it was the lower ball joints.. or something... sorry not very helpful will dig out the recipts when i get a sec.

Might be the F1s, they all do it on full lock on a damp surface. Not a fault. Of course it doesn't mean you have no faults

I too have this problem but does seem more problematic in the cold/wet.

Just in case it is engine mounts, as someone has already asked, is it easy to see if these are gone and if so, how much are we looking at to sort?

May not be realised by some - the turning circle is fairly good, but the steering pick-up points haven't been designed to give quite enough 'Ackermann' effect.

So the tyres scrub and judder a bit because on a lot of lock the outer wheel needs to point less tightly into the turn than it actually does.

Thats certainly what I had put it down to, because it is more apparent in the damp, implying the tyres are just scrubing slightly. Might want to check the mounts though!

I have worn F1s on my T350, they always judder on full lock slow in reverse even after engine mount replacements.
