Anti-blister liquid?
Discussion
Hi,
I'm going to India in a few months to climb a mountain in the Himalayas so I'm currently in the prep stage of the expedition... I was talking to somebody I know today who went somewhere once (can't remember where it was), got a blister, and somebody gave him some sort of fluorescent liquid to put on his blister. Apparently it dried up the blister within minutes and it didn't trouble him for the rest of the trip.
I know it's a long shot, and the liquid is probably illegal/prohibitively expensive/dangerous, but does anyone know what it is?
Thanks.

Best thing is surgical spirit wiped onto your feet 2 or 3 times a day. Start now and keep up the routine until you go.
Also take plenty of zinc plaster tape and tape up heels and balls of the feet.
Treat any blisters as soon as you get them - depressurise them and tape them up.
Some form of iodine=based antiseptic is useful too.
Thin cotton / smartwool socks against the skin inside your hiking socks. RAF flying socks are v. good hiking socks - try Silvermans - they are sized rather than one size fits all.
Also get some Sorbothane footbeds for your hiking boots.
I take it you are already wearing your hiking boots for 10+ miles a week?
Happy hiking!
