Hello boys........and Bonnie,

The Monaro service Booklet (2004 edition)states that the car should have it's clutch and brake systems drained and re-filled every two years regardless of distance travelled, I had a my second service carried out today by my local Vauxhall Dealer and they didn't change the fluids.

I questioned the decision twice when I collected the car but they said it wasn't part of the service. Obviously I was happy to have a smaller bill but have concerns that the fluids were not changed ?

I'm surprised as the clutch fluid is quite dark.

What do you peeps think ?

(the car is a 6.0 VXR - 13,000 miles)

It is indeed scheduled for every 2 years. We always ask first as quite often it gets out of sync with the servicing, which is mileage and time based.

It doesn't help that a lot of the dealers dont tick the boxes when they have done it!

Thanks for the reply (Roger)

Should I pursue it with the Dealer or just wait until my next service. I wouldn't want the warranty invalidated.

Helloooo,

It was £150 for my first service last year and £150 again this year, so compared to my Wifes bill of over £1600 for her car service, I'm pleased.

Brake/clutch fluid/antifreeze are part of the service schedule for most car makers but not included in the dealers fixed price servicing cost, it is normally stated that these incure an additional charge.
I think the antifreeze is every 5 years so those that have Ro's with 06/07 reg's should they remember the cars are actually 2005 ?
