SL R129, price, fun to drive, ext... Help!
Discussion
Hey guys, congratulations on this wonderful forum!
I am thinking of taking the pledge and buy a Merc for the first time! As far as I can tell, the SL R129 is offering great value for money right now, as I cannot imagine its prices falling lower. I am interested in the 300SL years 92-4, or the SL320 95'. The prices for these particular models, as I can see in autotrader, vary from 3k to 7k pounds.
Could you tell me what should i expect to pay for these cars, if they are considered generally reliable and the expected average cost of maintenance per year???
Also, I have found many threads on the net, on how to deactivate the ASR system of the R129. If i do so, will it be more fun to drive and maybe drift a little in tight corners???
Thank you for all the potential answers, looking forward to become one of you!!!
