Holloway Road vs Clapham

Has anyone had experience of living in both places mentioned above?

Which is better for a 24 year old single male working near Bank? Bars, people, crime, etc? Looking at moving to either place for 12 months or longer.

Lived in Clapham for about a year, 2005-2005. Nice enough but very expensive for what you get, lousy parking. Reasonable night life around there, but nothing special. Parking was a bit of a nightmare there. Never had any problems with crime but it definitely does happen.

Don't know Holloway Road so well.

Holloway Road is a very long road, it's not too bad all in all. Dull more than anything. The Highbury end is pretty good as you've got good transport links and Upper Street near by. The middle (i.e actual Holloway bit) is a bit grim but there are a lot of late night shops and it's fairly cheap IIRC. The Archway end is again fairly grim but not too bad.

As for Clapham, well my experience of it is fairly limited but it's always come across as somewhere almost entirely frequented by people in HR and for that reason alone I'd rather chew my arm off then live there.

Actually if you want to see the problem with Clapham, flick over to Channel 4 now and meet your new neighbours...

I work in Clapham & live in Bromley.

Have to say I really like Clapham (we are just off the High Street by Clapham North tube) the place buzzes both day & night with loads of places to eat, drink & party.

Its very busy & vibrant, getting into town on the tube is easy on the northern line but its packed during the rush hour...absolute carnage!

Like most places it has its problems, but its never really caused me any aggro.
