Serial to USB Lead

I took my car down to see Joo at Track Car Solutions the other day and i have to say i was VERY impressed once AGAIN! He explained to me exactly what he was doing and even showed me how to go on whith reading the information from the ECU on his laptop! (whenever i see him i always think "this is the kind of person you want working on your car!") So thanks once again Joo! Now i have downloaded the software but i need to get myself the correct lead. He told me my car has the Serial connection but my laptop dosent so i cant use a serial to serial lead or if i do i need a serial to USB adaptor. However i have seen some serial to USB leads for sale and i was wondering if these would be compatible? Whats everyone else using? What works best?

Yup.. They should work... I use serial to USB leads at work for TS-dips.
