I’ve had a load of calls from 08445811014
The first time I answered it, it was silent, so ignored subsequent calls.

a bit of digging brings up
http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/0844581101...
a load of people who have had similar calls, where it’s claiming to be
from various banks.

Answered it today.
Noticeable delay before I was connected to a foreign woman, poor line
quality, claiming to be from the Bank of Scotland, and asking me for
some security details.

I don’t have any accounts nor business with the BoS.

I told her this, and she said to call another number (0708501291) to
prevent future calls, otherwise they would start again in a couple of weeks

I can’t see as much info about this number on “whocallsme” but a general
google picks it up on a site regarding international premium-rate phone
scams.

I’m sure if it’s genuine and important, they’ll send me a letter, but
until then, I’m not answering nor calling any numbers related to this.

070 numbers aren’t always “mobiles”. As a mate said, who works in the telecoms industry…

” 070 numbers are “Personal Numbering Services”, originally intended to give number portability for businesses. Now however, mostly they are used to confuse people as they think they are ringing a mobile number but what they are actually ringing is an out of bundle Premium Rate service, some with quite astronomical rates”
