Two BBC muppets got my goat this morning - Sarah Kennedy(shall I stop here?) was banging on about "this severe winter" and then that Carol Kirkwood started on about "snow flurries" later this week, with a look of doom in her eyes.

A) It's fecking January. B) What a load of softies. 5 years of horrid, pissing-down-for-weeks-and-warm winters and a little bit of frost makes this the end of the world

(This obviously only applies to the south of the UK)

Carol Kirkwood loves it when the weather takes a turn for the worse. It allows her to roll her eyes and announce that it will be "atrocious."

Every year winter comes and yet every year it seems to come as a surprise to the average Briton.

That's just it, the average Briton isn't surprised at all...... years of looking out of the window to discover what the weather is like has left us in a state of constant readiness for mother nature. Its only mouthbreathers at the bbc, looking for the next thing to sensationalise who are gobsmacked that in winter it can be cold, and in summer ti can be hot.

IIRC also the hottest summer on record.

'Climate change' hadn't been invented in those days, people just called it 'weather'.

Surprised they haven't used the changing seasons to prove that myth, I mean theory...

Once this has been disproved they'll move to promote some other saga like 'tree burn' whereby trees start to turn brown in the Autumn and then suddenly, without warning, lose their leaves...! Our society is one great big joke - sometimes I wish for a basic existence, fishing for supper, sleeping under the stars...sigh! rolleyes

yes

It was Easter weekend and we were in Portugal. First week we laughed our socks off at the weather reports of snow, second week we didn't feel so smug as the temperature back home was actually hotter!

Now that's what I call weather biggrin

I remember waiting at Kings Cross and the snow was coming down the platforms and landing by the destination boards (if you know the station you'll know that was some snow shower) - it was well taters too.

When Jeremy Paxman was pressed to put a weather forecast in the Newsnight program he was not well chuffed. One of his best was,

"What do you expect, it's winter"!

Best weather forecast I ever heard on the radio was in LA.

It was simply "And the weather for today"... "It doesn't get better than this!"

Nothing more was needed cool
