I've looked pretty much everywhere now. I have a Dell precision 350 and i didn't order it myself so i don't personally know whether it has USB 2.0. I've looked on the Dell website and it says they don't do my model anymore, because it's about 6 months old. I've looked for any documentation that came with my computer and it doesn't say anything. I've tried reading any reviews of my computer and it still doesn't enlighten me. I've gone on to the device manager and the Dell website and this is all it's come up with:

"VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Companion Controller" From what i understand it's not USB 1.1 , so it must be USB 2.0??

If anyone has any insight for me i'd very much appreciate it. Sorry for the long post.

Thanks for any replies.

Hi Gary,

I've got USB 1 and my system reports the same.

'VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Companion Controller'

ok lets try google.com

"dell precision 350"

Click view as html (the PDF is gone from Dell's website) on the number 1 result.

Looking under specification it says USB 2.0

So looks like your O.K.

Are you two guys from across the Atlantic ?

If you try the above two links the Dell site says select region...so must know that we're accessing the site from Europe.

Nope, I'm in Manchester ATM. Dell's sites give you lots more information if you pretend to be in the US - goodness knows why

Hi Cousin !

Ok this means if you go the Dell site and select US and keep going you'll find the info.

But if you publish a link ...it wont work as dell redirects you to the selct region page.

and I thought the beauty of the web was sharing information !

Soon dozens of kids will be unable to look at
a top Italian marque's website because their household income is not above the set threshold :-)

Thanks for all the replies, they were very useful. I was hoping that Dell would have been kind enough to provide USB 2.0 if i was spending over a £1000 on a computer.

Thanks again
