GC Motors in Harrogate are generally one of the cheapest high end dealers around. They move cars on pretty quickly if you want the Lambo.............

Why does that mean prices are dropping fast?

The car has done nearly 40,000 miles. If it had done 50,000 miles it would probably be less!

Car price relating to mileage shocker!

In general, Gallardo prices have dropped pretty quickly over the last few months. Maybe not through main dealers but private sales and non franchise dealers seem to be offering very good value.

Sounds suspiciously like you are an expert on the motor trade?

So you will probably know that all 5 Lamborghini dealers in the country are having a record month on used cars this month?

....I thought you did.

Being a salesman of course you were going to say something like that. Just like there are green scrubs of recovery becoming visible.
Are you actually saying to me that in the midst of the worst economic situation since the earth began, that more second hand Lamborghini's are being sold now than ever before??
By the way I am not an expert on the motor trade or connected with it.

This whole thing puzzles me.

Porsche OPCs are telling people that they are having their best January for years. If that's the case, why are so many of them sacking staff?

Hey

If people are saying things are good then lets join in, all this talk of bad times just makes it worse.

I have had my best january in a few years as well.

All is looking bright for the future

fwiw our friendly local ford dealer has just had its best december ever
it looks like this month is going to be its best january ever
i was expecting to find the place to myself, instead on each visit we've had to wait for a salesman

Across the water here in Ireland new car sales are down about 65% - used car sales are very very poor too. There are major franchise dealers closing down on a daily basis and by the looks of it... Jeep, Chrysler, Saab, Dodge, Chevrolet and Land Rover are all going to go out of business here.

It makes absolute sense for somebody like Ford, FIAT etc to be doing well as people must be trading down. However people trading up to lamborghini's or even buying second hand ones instead of new in this climate is pushing it, unless a record month means three sales instead of two.

I am sorry to hear that Steve. Can only comment on the UK mainland and a showroom we are having a very good month and as a dealer group we have just had a record used car week. Not all businesses took all the realignments last year in order for this to happen.

Our price adjustments even qualified for their own thread!!

Good to hear that we are nice to window shoppers. I was one myself once too!

Gallardos (unlike 911s etc.) have never been available this cheap being a new model. Perhaps more buyers at £50-60k than £75k?

I dunno, just guessing.

Glad to hear business is good for people though.
