Have had 19" wheels fitted to my 2007 TT, but they came with 245 x 35 tyres, not 245 x 45 as original. Will this make any difference to handling etc. Thanks a lot.

If larger wheels are fitted you would usually have lower profile tyres to ensure that the speedo remains accurate. There are various caluclators online to tell you what the difference in tyre and wheel size will have to the diameter.

As for handling, you have less flex in the wall of a lower profile tyre so would expect sharper handling and better feedback, the downside would be a harsher ride. However, side wall stiffness various between manyfacturers and models of tyre.

If you dont drive your car at or near the limit you probably wouldnt notice the differences in handling, you are moree likely to notice ride.

Changing tyres from original spec can affecrt your insurance, so if they are non standards I would also advise that you clear the change with your insurers
