I need a watch for 250 quid as a daily wear.

What do you fine people think of this?

I really like it....

But for that kind of money, I'd have gone for something like this:

It'd look lovely with one of these...

Seriously, £250 is a lot for a quartz movement watch IMHO. Prepared to stretch just a tad for a Sinn 556? Hard enough to function as daily wearer, but with a decent movement and reputation.

£250 is an awkward budget point. Not much truly decent kit available new, a few quartz movements chancing it with a higher than average value and a well-known brand name, and also the potential for something really tasty on the used market if you can be in the right place at the right time.

That Oakley is just fugly, but that's just my personal view. Sorry.

For the budget, would go for a Precista 17 over at -

http://www.timefactors.com/precista.htm

Can get all the variants for that money and have change left over. Timefactors is run by Eddie, who lets us all WIS's indulge our passion over at TZ-UK and the watches are bulletproof and highly thought of.

One of these is on my shopping list for the very near future.

That GT3 RS is gorgeous, but concur on the Oakley - very fugly indeed

For that money, I'd be looking at a Chris Ward, a Timefactors, or an RLT.

That's the beauty of watches - some love, some hate!

I really love the look of that Wenger!

Looks like a Bell and Ross but less controvertial.

I'd look at a Poljot for that money also, as you know the quality will be up to scratch!

OK so let's open this up a bit.

Coolest watch for 250 notes. Needs to be "a poor man's Submariner."

I've found another Wenger which is even cooler.

Possibly not "a poor man's Submariner" yet loving this, and "only" £170!

Nice watch, but looks too like a Sub (I have an LV)

I want something which is not a wannabee Sub, but which costs less than 250 notes.

You're a picky bugger.

Try this:

Citizen Pro Diver Titanium, £162 inc VAT

Well, it's a diver, and orange. You've got that in your favour!

But this is automatic, clear and classy. Ish.

Have to commend Commander Jamson's choice! Just had my orange monster delivered yesterday from RK Watchhouse via Ebay (£131 inc RMSD). Superb watch, has excellent weight, feel and craftmanship. Despite being a hefty unit still looks fine on my weedy 6.5 inch wrists. For the money I can't see how you can go wrongsmile
