This footage is AMAZING, If I had 30 ton Killer whales anywhere near my boat I wouldnt be in the boat in the first place! Imagine what would happen if you fell in!

That was a fifty pound salmon, the British record is only in the mid 60's if I recall (caught by a woman too!). A real fish of a lifetime in the UK. I pressume this footage is Canada but I could be mistaken.

Actually it's in Canada. Sooke Bluffs is on Vancouver Island, just on the Pacific side from the Southern tip in the Straight of Juan De Fuca. I went to university in Victoria and we used to do a lot of fly-fishing in the rivers on that part of the Island all the way up to Clayoquot Sound. Often used to fish for Salmon in Sooke harbour and the river.

Yup, not far off. You can see they aren't that far off shore and Sooke Bluffs is a pretty good spot for a few reasons (like seafloor geography and ocean currents). They'll be a couple hundred yards offshore right at the Southern tip of the Island (there's a little knob/protrusion). Pretty common to see Whales around there as there's a resident pod that feeds mostly on salmon & herring.
