Hi everybody...
Just thought I'd say hello...collected my CanAm today from the factory who have checked it over and SVA'd it, I can't take credit for building it, that goes to Griffin Motorsport and an excellent job they have done too!
Drove the 90-odd miles from the factory to my home with no problems other than jaw-ache from the constant wide grin
Got stuck in a bit of traffic on the M1 and there was a couple of blokes in a MPV leaning out of their windows taking pictures with their phones!
Will be checking everything over in the daylight tomorrow before with a bit of luck putting a further 200-300 miles of the running in under my belt!
Be prepared for some stoopid
questions from me although I promise to search first!!
Of course any newbie-type-tips from any of you seasoned campaigners will be most welcome!
Alan.
PS: I should've done this years ago

Alan Congrats mate. I have been on the road for 3 months with Canam and still havn't stopped smiling even during a slight sideways moment at the weekend.
Did the factory bock the airintake to the engine. After a month of driving I did mine and it made a hell of a difference to comfort and no effect to engine.By the way what engine have you hidden in the back.
Happy motoring

Alan On airtake yes cutting noise is a bonus but mainly to reduce heat wash. When the posibility of a fuel flash-back was mentioned I thought it was a good idea. I have made a sandwich plate made of foam, alu and insulation which attaches over the inside of the grill and can be removed (also cannot be sean).
Great choice on colour. I suspected you might be on the road I had a call from a friend who had spotted you and thought it may be me.
Happy Driving

Thanks Crazy I'll look into doing this then...have precious little hair as it is don't want it fried off by a flash through the grill
Are you in Berks or Sussex?
Was it the M25 I was spotted on yesterday then?
Some pictures now up here: www.pbase.com/algape/ultima
more to follow when I can get my hands off the steering wheel (mate took these) and pick up my camera

Hi Alan It was a mate who spooted you not sure where. He is a true pistonhead does car auctions and the such.
I am on Bucks / Berks border. Went today to Wellingborough to get HSV bits wanted to take Ultima glad I didn't rained both ways.
I will get a roof in December so may brave the occasional winter road.
Pitty its getting late in year for car meets.
