Which is heavier, a pound of gold or a pound of bricks?

I suspect it won't take too long for someone to give the correct answer, it's an old one.

Does the word heavy relate to weight NOT mass i wonder !?

If 'heavy' relates to weight and a pound is a measure of mass, then a pound of gold is of equal mass to a pound of bricks, meaning they would weigh the same.

If they are both pound (lb) then they are the same, if the bricks are lb and the gold is pounds(troy) then the bricks are heavier.

But I would prefer the gold even if it was lighter.
