Ever had a tedious job?

Either as a job full stop or a particular tasks that bore you to death?
I remember as a young office junior years ago being given a store room of 10 years or more of timesheets for a large local authority and having to file them all in data and employee number. I was at it for weeks full time, and months part time between other jobs. Then they put me in an empty factory unit one week in a very cold winter, standing guard over nothing but bags of hairdressing supplies while the solicitors agued over who they belonged to.
In the past week I have had to read, in all their graphic, bulls
tting detail almost 2000 job applications and I still have 1000 to go. 10-12 hours a day, 6 and sometimes 7 days a week since early/mid January. I am so sick of the managemnet tripe they all push out I could scream.

I bet now you were the quality assurance manager in an international branding house concerned within the transport sector?

I bet now you were the quality assurance manager in an international branding house concerned within the transport sector?
It was in my collage days between Mcdonalds and a doorman at a gay club!!!!!
A summer holiday job while at university......putting the plastic cap, spray bit (I wasn't caught up in the details!!) onto aerosol cans by hand on an assembly line. It was the most mind numbing thing I have ever done and by the end of a 12 hour night shift I couldnt see anything past my hand!!!
Ok, I'm the master of st jobs, by my own addmission.
I've worked in Fox's biscuit factory - Lasting 6 hours. (min wage, I was desperate, but not that desperate, full of people who speaky no english!)
Sweeping a warehouse (the doors were always open so it was hard to make progress) - Lasted about 4 month. (4 hours a day, to be done whenever, so fitted nicely around my other job, and the money wasn't too bad)
Worked for City Link, scanning incoming packages - Lasted 2 months. (An inbetween job, and i can tell you now they are an 'Equal opportunity' employer)
I could go on, with the inbetween jobs and part time jobs I've held.

Not the same but, company I was at employed someone to do a tedious Job.
Had an archive room to empty and was quoted something silly to get rid of the contents as it was tonnes of "mixed waste".
Employed a student for a few weeks to remove paper clips / bulldogs / dividers /polypockets etc (all used again)
and I think he even cut off the stapled corners so we could dispose of everything as paper!

Yes - Summer job assembling locks & latches 
It was actually quite a good factory as they go, met some interesting 'lifers' in there... couldnt handle more than a few weeks at a time there though
Supervisors said 'Race yourself... see if you can do 100 more in the next hour than you did in the previous one!'
...I escalated quite quickly in the ranks after explaining to a few of the 'lifers' what Y2K stood for.

During a "get any work you can" phase, the agency sent me to a mailing company who sent out gumf on behalf of charidees, to people who had expressed an interest in their work.
Endlessly typing post-codes into "the system" every day.
Lasted about a week, although I am to this day very proficient with the numeric key-pad on a keyboard and can enter numbers without looking. Life skills, you see.

I've had many, but for pure tedium it would be the first phase of the Commonwealth Games athlete's village. It was based in the main student halls at Mcr Uni and we had to put put a bunkbed and matresses into every single room that was used. Narrow hallways and no lifts, it was 3 weeks solid just carrying boxes and assembling beds! Had its moments though, jumping from a 3rd floor window onto a pile of mattresses was loads of fun
