Specsavers have an online service, but you still have to visit a branch to have them fitted.

It's illegal to dispense glasses without knowing the customers' pupillary distance.

But Specsavers are probably the best.

I use Glasses Direct, and have been reasonably happy with them. I did have one pair that failed the second time I wore them, but they were the cheapest pair they actually sell - I need to carry a spare pair when I fly, and the one time I used them in anger the blimmin lens fell out!

The titanium frames I have from them though are excellent, and they sell them far cheaper than Vision Express, whom I used to use. Think £70 all in instead of £300. The sunglasses are also top notch.

glasses direct for me, although i prefer to have ones that i can try,

last time i went to vision express, found a pair i liked, wrote down the model number a googled for the cheapest.

Bought them shipped from usa for £70 vs £180 in Vision Express.
