Anyone got a metal (steel) garage ? Recommended ?

Too many cars, not enough undercover space. Looking at options for a reasonably sized single garage. I don't want to build it out of brick as there are potential planning issues with where I want to put it (too complicated to explain).

That really leave the choice as either timber or metal. I'm very tempted by a 17 x 10 foot metal one that's on Ebay and elsewhere for about £650 - I reckon that's going to be much cheaper and easier than timber.

I think the big concern is condensation. I've spoken to someone who bought one and he said he insulated the roof with Kingspan and that fixed the problem and is now very happy with it.

What's the view amongst the PH guys ?

We have 20x8' steel shipping containers which have a vent in each top corner to stop condensation etc.

Interesting. If it was mine I'd fit vertical battens inside, then add tongue-and-groove planking and put the insulation in the gap as I went along. Then you get a timber inside for the easy of banging-in of nails to hang things on, etc.
