Would this be a good idea?

Every house-hold in Britain (law abiding , tax paying residents) are provided whith a hand held machine, the type the audiences are provided with on game shows (like Balls Of Steel - lame example I know)where you can press a button and vote for somthing and then your vote is counted etc.
This machne is provided by a (trust worthy) independant organistation and comes with a username and password to operated and access it and is really secure like when you fill in your personal tax form and you get a password through the post etc so that nobody can 'FRIGG' the votes.
The device is connected through the phone line/broadband etc and is encrypted so that nerds cannot hack into it and mess with the votes.
This can then be used to vote in the general election (save you going out in the rain)and to carry out other important voting issues with regards to how we feel now about the UK.
This device will be called "The One True Voice" as when they announce that 2.5 million people watched Corrie last night I can't see how they knew that I was watching.
(not that I watch Corrie but you get my drift)
Then every week or month end you can log into you new box of tricks and post questions onto a website loging in using the secure method. The question could be anything you feel you wish to bring up with regards to our country and the things which you feel could be changed for the better.
Then the top question of that week would be posed to the great British Public to vote on and of course because this would be such a momentous occasion it would feature on the News at Ten on a friday night and then the answers would be collected - they would then count the answers and the top 5 answers would then be set as answers you could choose for the following week.
Can you imagine if every newspaper in Britain had the sdame question and 5 top answrers we all agreed on to vote for - now wouldnt that be a 'ONE TRUE VOICE' of how we all feel about the UK at the moment.
Then if everybody voted then on the next friday that would surely count as the true feelings of the country.
They could get sponsership and every answer could be put into a prize draw so that ther is an incentive to vote.
But you know what, I think we wouldn't need much of an incentive to vote becuase if you are like me and you have conversations about England, the UK, Great Britain most people think the same but have to agree that "well theres nothing we can do about it now anyway".
Theres nothing we can do about it anyway!!! What a crap situation to be in!!!
Nothing's done because no one can hear what we really think, if we had "One True Voice" things would change.
Do you think this would be a good idea?
