Apparently you can with an M5, but can you with an M6? I've got to change my RS4 because need something to tow with and it's not really allowed to do so.

Better to buy an X5 than be daft and try towing with an M6. Look at the physics and torque, not bhp and styling. Simple answer NO!

Or keep the RS4 and buy a cheap Landy.

I looked at this with my M6 a couple of years ago and apparently it is "not homologated" for towing and there was no bracket / bar manufactured by anyone.

Fair enough so it's not really a winner then. PArtially just fancy a change from the RS4. Maybe a Cayenne Turbo would be a winner.

Cayenne Turbo is quite a piece of engineering, but so ugly. Why not spend less on the tow vehicle (VW Toureg) and more on a toy (track or fast road weapon).

W12 Phaeton... got to be the most comfortable car to pull a trailer and enough torque to not even know you're doing so...

Well I was thinking a Toureg V10 but as it's going to replace the RS4 as a daily-ish drive I want something that'll be fun. Am racing an Exige so that's already sorted, got an M3 CSL (which is for sale!) as a track 'toy', and a Gallardo Spyder as a supercar (soon to be replaced by a 430). So don't think I can put up with another car specifically for towing, and want something fun-ish. Phaeton is super old-man, I did want to run an Aston as a day to day car but think it might feel too slow, and pointless to have that and a 430 too.

New XFR sounds like a great addition to the stable. No idea when you could get it or whether there will be a homologated bar.

Off topic for this forum but why the change from Gallardo to 430?

Because the Lambo is slightly like driving an extremely fast front door - i.e. wooden. The Ferrari is however rather more like a big elise - with the Lambo going down a road you've no idea what's happening with grip, you just throw it in and hope whereas the fezza is a lot better to drive.

Hi Dubbs. Yep things things are pretty good, it sounds like we both like "extreme" cars.

Are you still at trackdays?
