RS6 Avant - what to offer?
Discussion
OK, I know it's up to me... but would welcome some input..
Test drove an RS6 this morning - 08 plate, on for £59,990 - was very impressed and it ticked all the boxes - unfortunately the sales guy got a call whilst we were returning to the show room to say the person who'd driven it immediately before me had bought it. Now there are a few others in various dealer stock so may still go that way, but the chap I was dealing with said they had a brand new one in group stock (spec/colour I like) that they cold do me a VERY aggresive deal on - just wondering how aggresive I could be.... no p/x, probably cash sale....

i thing realistically for a cancelled order car you should aim for high 60's, i'd bid 65k and see how they react. i weighed up the options very recently between unregistered in stock new car or an ex-demo with low miles and went for the ex demo simply as i can't be bothered to run it in and it's going to be the family hack so i feel slightly less guilty when it gets dirty within the space of a few hours. i negotiated a big chunk off the screen price for an ex demo, but in fairness it was optimistically priced, i paid a 59 dead for a good colour combo high spec car with new boots, tracker, etc. great car by the way, so far i'm delighted with mine.
The dealer might be a bit more open to offers if you take finance as they will make a bit of cash out of it.
Most places will have a low rate option if you say you want to pay cash and if you are luckily enough to be able to pay this off after the 3 months you have to pay then happy days.!
Some dealers are even doing finance contributions up until March...

There's a new one advertised at Bramley's (one here) for £69k. Admittedly, it's not a UK sourced one, but it's a good starting point. I'd go in and show them the ad. In fact you could even tell them that it is a UK dealer sourced one, they're not likely to ring up to check. Tell them to match it or someone else gets your business.
And that's exactly what's wrong with the customer/dealer relationship in most cases.
You're advocating this guy lying to the Audi dealer about the Bramley car which therefore only has a 2 year warranty and not the UK Audi 3 years! There must be a big difference in value of the ownership experience between the import and the UK dealer car.
I'd like it noted that this is often the case, and on MANY occassions it is not us dealers who are the dishonest parties in the deals!

Fair point. Although, most dealers that I have had experiences with wouldn't hesitate to lie if the boot was on the other foot. But as you say, it is wrong to tell them something that isn't true and the extra years warranty on a 'UK' car must be worth all of £1,000. So, their car is worth £70k instead of the Bramley £69k one. Bramleys are expensive and I would suggest not a great price check comparison.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
