Just failed MOT on steering rack gaiter. Anyone know what it's off? Mine is a 1988 350i with PAS. The wedge parts list says it's a Cortina mk4 but I've a feeling that the Cortina one is non PAS. Regards, Mark

My '87 car has ex-Cortina PAS; original boots are hard to get hold of and most of the aftermarket generic motor factors' things tend to be long and cumbersome and turn themselves inside-out on full lock... which causes them to split, so round in circles you go (no pun intended wink )...

You could get PAS on the 2.3 V6 tinas.

Mine had to have a new rack boot too, last November. Try tvrcarparts, your nearest (ex)dealer or http://buysellcortina.co.uk . similar story with trackrod ends. smile
