Nice hotel within an hour of Folkestone?
Discussion
I'm sure many PHers have headed over to the continent on a hoon and spent a night somewhere near the Chunnel. We are driving over to Bruges for a weekend away in March and I'd like somewhere decent to stay on the Thursday night before we travel over. Does anyone have any recommendations? Budget oh, around the ton mark I guess, anything less is a bonus.
Hi there
There is a Marriott at Maidstone just of the M20 (Bearsted), you may get a deal under the ton.
If you have time on your side and you want somewhere olde worlde and romantic the Hope Anchor in Rye is a nice hotel right in the middle of the medieval town with lovely views over the Marsh.
Another nice town (city in this case) Canterbury has many nice hotels with the Chaucer being one of the best but I've never stayed there so cannot be sure on how good.
Hythe, 15 mins from Folkestone has the Imperial and it's sister hotel the Stade Court. Many years since I stayed but highly recommend if they are still goin
Hope that helps

Hmmm, got a bit more creative with the search function and found this http://www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/hotels/Chilston-... so that's me sorted.
Carry on!
edit: ^^ cheers Richard, will check them out too.

I've stayed here many times: http://www.hotelclub.net/hotel.reservations/Hythe_...
Some may find it a bit old fashioned but I've enjoyed each visit. It's got a fantastic restaurant and, no, I don't play golf

.The Falstaff Hotel, Canterbury. Shedloads of pubs a short walk away, and a nice secluded (secure) car park. WNTL?
