Pop goes the electric
Discussion
For want of a better title that will have to do
A good few months ago we had a major power spike in our (new build) estate, several houses had a lot of equipment damage, fortunately all that went wrong with us was the blender going pop and my iPod dying.
The distribution company admitted it was their fault and quickly offered to compensate us, all very good I thought.
When I spoke with them over the phone they said it was a 'goodwill gesture' rather than admission of liability that they were offering us money but they would not pay for the iPod, only the blender. I really do not understand this as surely if the spike was caused by fault equipment in the first place they should replace whatever was damaged by it.
Apparently they had their 'experts' look at the iPod who decided it was working fine when blatently it was not working before of after they had a look at it.
If the company indeed does not have any liability in this matter then I really don't understand why they are even offering to pay for the blender.
