i have A-levels in chemistry, biology, physics and maths c.300 UCAS points
went to uni to study zoology but hated it.
dropped out and got a job with an agency which ive now lost due to staff cuts.
good excuse for me to get a proper job...
im now almost 21 and like the idea of a job in the oil and gas industry as ive always been better and physics/maths rather than biology, animals i believe should be kept as more of a passion for me and concentrate on what im good at.
ive seen courses for technician training schemes from various companies and wonder if these are for me.
they ask for around 5GCSE's at A-C. am i getting a bit big headed as i have a lot more qualifications than this? in which case should i just take a step back in order to take 2 steps forward and do the course?
or is there some kind of course/training scheme/apprenticeship that i can do that would be more my level?

Have you considered starting another uni course? At 21 you're not exactly too old. Might be easier than trying to find work in the current climate, take that from an unemployed engineering graduate.

ETA: With three sciences and math A-levels this has to be far more sensable than joining a scheme designed for people educated to a 5 grade C's at GSCE level, and should lead to a higher starting point.
